Melissa Vogt has established herself as an expert communicator in the wine industry for more than ten years. She has experience in the wine industry in writing, editing, communications, digital media, public relations, and more.
Following the receipt of her Masters in Rhetoric and Composition from Sonoma State University, Melissa worked for well-known local publications and organizations such as Very Napa Valley, SommSelect, Feast it Forward, and the Sonoma County Winegrowers. After years in the local wine industry, Melissa took on the role of Deputy Editor at Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, the world's most prestigious wine review publication. Her editorial role at The Wine Advocate also included writing for the Wine Journal blog on robertparker.com. Melissa has also provided consulting work for local media agencies Good Things Done Right and Studio 707.
Melissa has her Bachelors in English and Masters in Rhetoric and Composition. She earned her WSET Advanced Level III Certification through Napa Valley Wine Academy and her California Wine Appellation Specialist Certification through San Francisco Wine School.
In addition to her work in public relations and other consulting services in wine country, Melissa also currently freelance writes for several publications, including Food & Wine, Wine Country This Month, and Medium.
Melissa founded Magnum Media in 2021 to provide all-inclusive media services for family-owned wineries. Magnum Media champions small, family-owned wineries as a local agency with a global impact.
